In order to apply for permission under the skilled worker route:

The applicant must hold a confirmed job offer from an approved sponsor meeting the required skill and salary levels and must speak English to an acceptable standard.

Irish or EU citizens

Irish citizens do not need permission to live and work in the UK. The Skilled Worker route also does not apply to those EU citizens holding immigration permission that allows them to work.

NEW SKILLS AND SALARY THRESHOLDS

The Skilled Worker applicants must hold a job offer that meets the minimum skills and salary thresholds to apply. They need to hold a job offer at a skill level of RQF3 or above which is defined as A-Level or equivalent. Skilled workers must be paid at least the minimum salary of £20,960 per-year, or the going rate for the occupation, whichever is higher.

The skilled workers can bring their family members (partner and children) to the UK and can apply to settle in the UK after 5 years’ continuous lawful residence.
